Builds

Humidified Sweep-Cell for dilute CO2 testing conditions
  • Allows testing of 400 ppm - 80,000 ppm CO2 balanced with N2 for both dry and humid feed conditions

  • Designed and built humidified sweep-cell.

  • Fully automated the system (to be controlled virtually) with the help of Dr. Kris Gleason

  • Structural build with the help of David Gray and Shallaco Mcdonald from the chemical engineering machine shop, at the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering

Pure Gas Constant-Volume Variable-Pressure Permeators
  • Re-designed and built manual constant-volume, variable-pressure pure gas permeation system to be fully automated with the help of Dr. Kris Gleason.

  • Modified to allow for low-pressure gas permeability measurements (as low as 0.03 bar)

Volumetric Pressure-Decay CO2 Sorption Apparatus
  • Low pressure (0 - 1 bar) CO2 Uptake apparatus for ionic liquids

  • Designed and built to be fully automated to be controlled virtually, with the help of Dr. Kris Gleason

  • Structural build with the help of David Gray and Shallaco Mcdonald from the chemical engineering machine shop, at the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering

Pressure and Vacuum Setup to Prepare Supported Ionic Liquid Membranes (SILMs)
  • Allows for preparation of SILMs via vacuum on the downstream side of the membrane, and N2 pressure (0 - 4 bar) on the upstream
